Before F1 racing takes over Las Vegas, boxing will get the spotlight. Shakur Stevenson fights for the vacant WBC lightweight title against Edwin De Los Santos.
Stevenson beat Joet Gonzalez in 2019 for the WBO featherweight title and beat Jamel Herring in 2021 for the WBO super featherweight belt. Stevenson is fighting for the WBC title after Devin Haney moved in weight to fight Regis Prograis for super lightweight gold. To prove he can fight the best in the division Stevenson aims to win gold again.
“This means the world to me. I’ve been grinding my whole life for these moments. I’m back in the same situation I was before, fighting for another vacant title. I’m just here to do what I got to do. I’m focused. I’m ready. Showtime on Thursday.”
De Los Santos replaces Frank Martin, who backed out of a potential fight due to contract negotiations. On a three-fight win streak, De Los Santos is the +700 underdog, per Bet MGM. Can the Dominican pull off the upset?
