How to bet on Cameron vs. Taylor 2

For the second time in two fights, undisputed super lightweight champion Chantelle Cameron will face off against former pound-for-pound No. 1 Katie Taylor on hostile territory at the 3Arena in Dublin. The 10-round bout, plus undercard action, will air on DAZN worldwide.

On May 20, the unbeaten Cameron produced a career-best performance to win a 10-round majority decision over Taylor at the exact same venue. Almost immediately, the vanquished lightweight champ activated a rematch clause and here we are.

“I’m delighted the rematch has been made and really can’t wait for another huge night in November,” said Taylor. “I relish challenges like this and these are the occasions I live for.”

However, Cameron is for real, as evidenced by her No. 2 position in The Sporting News’ pound-for-pound rankings. The defending champion is preparing diligently in Jamie Moore’s Manchester gym and looks to double up on her most famous victory and add to her legacy.

“Going back to Ireland to beat Katie Taylor twice in a row will show that it wasn’t just a lucky night for me and an off night for Katie,” Cameron said. “I said it last time – I think I’m all wrong for Katie. I’m too big, I’m too strong, and my will to win is too strong. I’m going to be there all night long. Katie picked the wrong fighter to fight.”

The Sporting News now looks into the betting for this eagerly anticipated rematch.

Per Bet365, Cameron is the 1/2 favourite, while Taylor is the 6/4 underdog.

As great a fighter as Katie Taylor is, I can’t see her turning this around. While the queen of the lightweights had her moments against Cameron, they were few and far between. In general terms, the kind of energy that a 37-year-old Taylor requires to hold off a rampaging pressure fighter is probably not there now.

Cameron, 32, is a terrific fighter. The Northampton-born champ has excellent feet, a head-snapping jab, and she sucks the wind out of opponents with a pulverizing body attack. All of this worked against Taylor in May and it’s difficult to imagine things being different this time around.

As well as having Cameron’s quality to deal with, Taylor is also the naturally smaller fighter in this matchup. By the midway point of fight one, the punches that she did land were bouncing off Cameron, who walked through the incoming with disdain.

I had Cameron winning the first fight by a wider margin than the judges at seven rounds to three. The decision was uncomfortably close, so my guess is that Cameron will be fiercely determined to end this rematch inside the distance. This combined with Taylor’s warrior mentality leads me to believe that the judges will have a night off.

Taylor will give it everything in the pursuit of revenge, but her bravery will be her undoing.
